A FERRYDEN resident has boosted the creative arts at Montrose Academy with a donation of instruments and equipment for pupils.
The school’s music department accepted the donation from Kenneth Coleman last week. Mr Coleman, who is terminally ill with cancer, has gifted two guitars, an amplifier, music books, sheet music and a number of DVDs.
Mr Coleman’s wife, Diana said: “It’s Kenneth’s wish that the guitars and music are put to good use by pupils at Montrose Academy and that hopefully some are encouraged to take up guitar through his donation.”
Peter Allan, principal teacher of expressive arts, said the school is grateful for the “generous gift.”
He said: “I am sure that many pupils, for many years to come, are going to benefit greatly from all the resources that Mr Coleman has kindly donated to the music department.”
