ANGUS secondary schools will close on two additional in-service days to allow teachers to prepare for the introduction of new qualifications.
Angus Eeducation convener Sheena Welsh said: “Head teachers and parent councils have been notified of the dates of the additional closures in order to provide parents with ample time to make any childcare arrangements.
“Schools in Angus have been fully supported in engaging with the new curriculum. Innovative work undertaken in Angus, such as the development of a new electronic tool to plan and track pupils’ learning, has received national recognition.
The revised arrangements mean that, in addition to the scheduled in-service day on Monday, August 13, all secondary schools will close for an extra in-service day on Tuesday, August 14.
The second additional in-service closure day for Montrose Academy is Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
