Round-up of news from Montrose Academy

Swimming: Erin Cranston and Liam O’Brian have competed in the Midlands Swimming competition and the Tayside Swimming competition.

Erin won a bronze medal in the girls’ 200m breaststroke and a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke. In the boys’ 200m backstroke Liam won a bronze medal and in the 100m freestyle he finished fifth in the final. This was an excellent achievement from both swimmers. Their times will now go forward to Scottish Schools to see if they qualify for the National Event early next year.

Angus FOOTBALL: The following footballers have been representing Angus in the National football Cup. Under-15s - Ross Mitchell, Morgan Smith, Yan Couineaux-Rice, Liam Bailey, Jordan Harrison and Kyle McLeod. Under-18s - Marcus Watt, Kyle Findlater and Josh Gray.

Recycool: Recycool now collect unwanted CDs/DVDs/iPods/Phones as well as clothes so the school is running a form tutor challenge – instructions with form teachers. A prize is on offer for the class with the biggest collection.

Green GROUP: The Green Group meets every Monday at lunchtime in room 21A. Any pupil interested in environmental issues and who wants to help Montrose Academy as an Eco School can come along.
