Angus was well represented when 15 D&A College sports students visited the UK’s biggest leisure industry exhibition in Birmingham.
Students from Montrose, Brechin, Forfar and Arbroath were among the delegation of HNC fitness, health and exercise students, who financed their own way for the two-day trip to Leisure Industry Week.
This dedicated trade exhibition show-cased all aspects of the leisure industry from fitness to soft play, nutrition to active recreation, and the students were quick to embrace the opportunity to network and identify key employability skills for each sector.
Course leader Sarah Raminger, who accompanied the students, said: “As well as engaging with new products and seeing the latest fitness classes, the students had the opportunity to attend educational seminars which contextualised and built on their course curriculum.
“Field trips can have a hugely positive impact on the student experience.”
