An elderly man has been taken to hospital after hitting a tree with his car in Ferryden last night.

The accident happened at 8.40pm on Thursday night (September 24) and left the driver in his 70s with minor head and leg injuries.

Craig Road at Ferryden was closed until after 9pm after the incident.

The man was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information after road traffic collision involving one car at Ferryden at 8.40pm on Thursday. September 24.

“A man understood to be in his 70s suffered minor injuries.”
