Emerald Sunday to play the O2 arena

LOCAL band Emerald Sunday are looking forward to their biggest summer yet, having just been confirmed on the bill to play at the biggest indoor festival in London.

Emerald Sunday play at this year’s Live Fest at the O2 arena, previously known as the millennium dome on Saturday, July 23. Live Fest also includes chart topping acts such as NDubz, Tinchy Stryder, The Hoosiers and Guillemots, to name but a few.

The band also have a very busy local schedule having recently played two packed gigs at the Montrose music festival, and D fest which, in association with Dundee Football Club, saw them play the Underground nightclub in Dundee as part of a day of live bands and djs. They now look forward to playing at this year’s Bon Fest in Kirriemuir in the year which would have seen AC/DC front man Bon Scott turn 65 years old. Emerald Sunday play the Town Hall, Kirriemuir on Friday, July 8 (doors open 7pm) and the Gairie Inn, Kirriemuir on Saturday, July 9 at 5 pm.

Emerald Sunday will also be playing live at Chapter and Verse, Forfar; The Northern Vaults, Montrose; the Johnshaven and Arbroath sea festivals as well as Live in the Den and Dexters, Dundee with Dykeenies front man Brian Henderson’s new project The Mouse that Ate the Cat.

Even with all this going on the band are still putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming album entitled Forbidden Sun which will be available soon.
