Emergency services attended an incident at North Street in Montrose, following reports of concerns for a woman.

Seven police vans, two fire engines and one ambulance attended yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, July 1).

Police gained access to one of the properties on North Street at the rear of building.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland, along with other emergency services, attended at North Street, Montrose, at 12pm on Wednesday, July 1 after reports of concerns for a woman.

“The woman was safely detained and arrested.

“The street was closed whilst the incident was ongoing and we would like to thank the public for their patience.”

The road and surrounding streets were cordoned off by the police and were re-opened by 2.45pm.
