Emergency services boost YM funds

MEMBERS of the local emergency services took to the pitch at Links Park recently to take on a team from the YM to help raise funds for the youngsters.

The YM team started brightly and controlled the game for the first 15 minutes.

The experience and fitness of the emergency services prevailed, however, as they composed themselves and took control.

Throughout the second half the Emergency services team were encamped in the opposing third and repeatedly peppered the YM goal into submission, emerging as the eventual winners, 11-3.

Community liaison officer PC Ally Hutchison, who organised the event, said afterwards: “I’d also like to thank the British Legion for their hospitality in providing refreshments for players and families and to everyone for their generous donations to the YM.”

The event raised £90.21 which will go towards strips for the YM team.
