The fund to provide Abbi Reid with long-term care after surgery to alleviate the symptoms of cerebral palsy had a tremendous boost on Friday.
Abbi was there in person to accept the cheque for £4,000, raised by members of Montrose Emergency Services Group (MESG), and Montrose Sports Centre team.
The money was raised at two events, the highly successful ‘It’s A Knockout’ and a sponsored waxing.
It’s a Knockout involved squads representing all the local emergency services, Tesco, Montrose Academy, Rossie School staff, Montrose Sports Centre and the Links Park Community Trust, competing in a series of games.
Attractions included target football, sumo suits, a Gladiators inflatable, Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre’s Red Baron biplane, a barbecue, beer tent and face painting.
The great family day out also included security stamping of bicycles, and an open air concert by local bands The Beauts, Medicine Well and the zugalu drummers.
