The Space at D&A College Kingsway Campus is the venue for one of the most emotionally-charged performances of the year when contemporary dance students stage their final production before moving on.

A total of 60 students are taking part in the End Of Year Show and while many of those on the NQ, and the first year HND courses will be returning to The Space after the summer break, lecturers will be bidding farewell to some of the second year HND students and those on the BA (hons) degree course.

Lee Lappin, creative director at The Space, said: “The End of Year Show is a culmination of the whole year’s work and dancers and choreographers pull out all the stops to make the final performance one to remember.”

Running from Thursday, May 22 until Saturday, May 24, the End of Year Show offers three discrete performances devised by lecturers and guest choreographers.

Included in this eclectic mix of dance and music is a piece by the first year HND students created by lecturer Benoit Egloff.

Benoit’s piece uses baroque music by Bach and Telemann, moving on to Beethoven, then leaping forward to the contemporary with Bill Conti who wrote the music for the ‘Rocky’ series of movies.

Performances begin at 7.30 p.m. and tickets are free at the door from 6.45 p.m. These can be reserved by e-mailing Daniel Ford at d.ford@dundeeandangus.ac.uk
