Kim Canale of Wall Projects in Montrose is delighted to feature the work of Bristol-based artist Dion Salvador Lloyd for her latest exhibition.
‘The sea is here in me’ is a selection of small enigmatic paintings by Dion which are displayed in Kim’s home gallery at 17 Wellington Street, near Links Park.
This is the first time Lloyd has exhibited in Scotland, and is represented by galleries in the south of England.
Working in oils, mark making and texture are as essential to Lloyd’s work as is the tone and palette chosen.
Having a deep connection and a fascination with the natural world Lloyd paints ‘contemporary landscapes’, creating each piece without using any reference. His work has been exhibited widely across the UK and has been selected for the RSA Summer Exhibition, Discerning Eye, RWA in Bristol, RBSA Birmingham and the ROI at the Mall Galleries, London.
Wall Projects began back in 2006 by artist and curator Kim Canale holding several art shows in her home each year, which turned out be a popular alternative venue that has attracted art lovers and collectors from all over the UK. The objective was to bring contemporary art to the north-east of Scotland that was engaging, challenging and thought provoking.
Since opening Kim has brought emerging art stars of the future to Montrose, as well as showing established Artists at the peak of their careers.
She recently opened a larger second space - her own studio - in The Old Rope Works in Montrose, with the help of the owners Lynda and Neil Paton. The exhibition, which runs until April 5, is by appointment only. Please call Kim Canale – 07714368203 or email – firstname.lastname@example.org
