TOILET facilities at Montrose seafront will open for the new season at the end of the month, Angus councillors have agreed.
Members of the authority’s neighbourhood services committee agreed at their meeting last Thursday that all the county’s council-run seafront toilets will open on March 30.
The facilities will also be open for longer hours during the summer months, reducing to weekends only by the end of September although they will open daily during the school October holidays.
Caravan parks and some outdoor recreation facilities managed by other operators will also open toilet facilities for the same minimum times and possibly longer.
Hillside, Melville, Inch and Monifieth bowling greens will also open from March 30 to September 29.
The Arbroath road train will only operate during the peak school summer holiday period, from June 28 to August 12, due to difficulties in recruiting seasonal drivers to work over the entire season.
