Applications for extensions to the usual opening hours of alcohol licensed premises in Angus during the festive season should be submitted to Angus Licensing Board as soon as possible and by November 28 at the latest.
Premises can apply for one additional hour at the end of trading on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Hogmanay and New Years’ Day. No premises will be allowed to open after 2 a.m.
Organisations seeking licences for specific events being held over the festive period are also asked to apply now.
Application forms for extended hours and occasional licences can be downloaded from www.angus.gov.uk ; the application fee is £10.
Applicants are advised that applications received after November 28 may not be processed in time for the festive season.
The council’s Civic Licensing Committee agreed (September 25) that premises with a late hours catering licence can open for an extra hour at the end of trading on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Hogmanay and New Years’ Day, up to 1 a.m., without having to apply to the council.
