THE TOTAL amount raised for the MS Therapy Centre (Tayside) by the Golf AM-AM organised by Ishbel Weir is an incredible £13,012.76.
Ishbel told the Review: “I am totally overwhelmed as I never imagined a total like this.
“Massive thanks to all the Companies and individuals who took part, sponsored the day, donated amazing auction and raffle prizes making the day such a success.”
The total raised so far was further boosted by the Co-operative Stores across the membership area served by the Centre, who supported Ishbel’s efforts by fund-raising in-store in the lead up to and over Easter weekend, helping increase awareness of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO).
Ishbel continued: “The support they gave is much appreciated and their efforts raised a further £3156.89 - meaning the overall total raised so far is a massive £16,169.65. I’ve been planning and organising both events for almost a year but never imagined for one minute that the AM-AM would raise anything like £13,000, or that asking for a raffle prize would lead to the support of the Cooperative Stores!
“Even more crazy is that 44 companies have indicated they want teams next year which is amazing, but comments such as ‘amazing day’, how much the players enjoyed the format and felt it was well organised definitely bode well for next year.
“What’s great is that so many people are now aware oxygen therapy exists for MS and the amount raised for the MS Therapy Centre (Tayside) Ltd will be put to good use purchasing items such as new masks which cost in the region of £790 each, and other equipment that can benefit the people attending the Centre.”
The Tayside MS Therapy Centre is at Unit 12B, Peddie Street, Dundee, DD1 5LB.
