Fantastic work by CHAS charity

CHILDREN’S Hospice Ass-ociation Scotland (CHAS) has sent a big thank you to all Review readers who have supported the charity this year.

CHAS provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

At Christmas CHAS reached out to help children and families from right across Scotland, providing specialist care and support at its hospices - Rachel House in Kinross and at Robin House in Balloch.

And the wonderful ‘CHAS at Home’ team provided dedicated care to children and families throughout Scotland.

For many families, this may have been be their last Christmas together. Last year CHAS made it special for mother and daughter Kim and Leah. The charity organised a special fireworks display, a pamper day and professional photoshoot.

Mum Kim said: “It was thanks to all the care we received that Leah improved enough to make it home for Christmas. She had made it to Christmas Day, which we hadn’t thought was possible. The whole family came over to be with Leah. It was blissful.”

Maria McGill, CHAS chief executive, told us: “Christmas is a magical time. At CHAS we know that the best gift we can give is loving care and attention so that families and children have great memories and can enjoy their time together just like any other family during the festive season. So, we’d like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers, supporters and staff who have helped us throughout the year to support our families, raise much needed funds and promote the great work we do across Scotland.

“Thank you and Happy New Year to all your readers.”
