A DISPLAY commemorating the 300th anniversary of local Freemason’s Lodge Kilwinning No 15 opened at Montrose Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday.

Originally formed under the name Lodge of Montrose in 1713, Lodge Montrose Kilwinning No 15 is one of the oldest Masonic Lodges in Scotland.

As part of its 300th anniversary celebrations, the Lodge has loaned to Montrose Museum some of its historical objects and archives for this fascinating display.

The array of regalia, photographs, including one of the banquet held in 1913 for the bicentenary celebrations, along with intriguing documents, provide an insight into the long history of the Lodge.

Opening hours, Tuesdays to Saturdays (closed Mondays), are 10am to 5pm. Admission is free.
