Fife rockers Big Country to play in Montrose

Fife rockers Big Country will perform songs from their classic multi-million selling album ‘Steeltown’ in Montrose.

The band will play at the Town Hall on December 13 as part of their 30th anniversary Steeltown tour which starts In October.

The bands appearance marks another big name act for the town with a sell out gig by rock legends Status Quo just weeks away.

‘Steeltown’ was the band’s second studio album and was recorded at Abba’s Polar Studios in Stockholm with Steve Lillywhite producing. The album reached number one in 1984.

The band will perform songs from the album and other classics from there huge catalogue, which includes 17 top 30 hits in the UK alone.

Support slots to the likes of the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page is testament to their reputation as one of the best live acts in the UK over the last 30 years.

A spokesperson for North East Promotions said: “We are delighted to be hosting the event and will announce a local support act shortly in our continued commitment to bring top class live music to the Town Hall.”
