A NEW fund supporting fisheries and maritime activities in Angus has now been launched.
The Angus Coastal European Fisheries Fund aims to encourage projects that bring economic benefit to the Angus coastal area.
The fund is adsministered by the Angus Coastal Fisheries Local Action Group with support from Angus Council.
The action group, which was set up after the Scottish Government accessed £4.2 million for Scottish coastal communities from the European Fisheries Fund, is keen to hear from organisations and businesses throughout the area with ideas for projects on the Angus coast, from north of Montrose to Monifieth.
A diverse range of schemes will be eligible to apply, providing they have a strong and lasting community benefit.
The fund can support projects such as those that will attract investment and new business into the area, create new jobs outside the fisheries sector, train people for new trades, promote eco-tourism, promote products with low environmental impact, offer workshops or exhibitions on using local sea produce or introduce young people to the fishing industry.
Further information and details about how to apply are available from Rhonda McFarlane on 01307 474849, or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
