Legendary Scottish comedian Fred MacAulay will be entertaining the people of Angus at an event in aid of a children’s diabetes charity.
Comedy will meet music on Saturday, September 24 when MacAulay, who has appeared on Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and The News Quiz, and fun loving three-piece rock cover band Fubar from Aberdeen enthral the crowd at Montrose Town Hall.
The Sunday Times described the Scottish comedian and presenter as “rib-achingly funny, one of the funniest men alive”.
The event is in support of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and has been organised by Montrose couple Anne and Ally Hutchison, whose 13-year-old son, Aidan, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year.
Ally said: “Anne and I are doing what most parents would do in our position.
“We value the research work undertaken by JDRF and are happy to support the charity in any way we can.
“We are part of a fantastic team of Type 1 diabetes parents in Montrose who take part in numerous fundraising events.
“When Fred agreed to help, we jumped at the opportunity to bring him to Montrose.
“The Fubar lads came on board and the comedy/rock night was born.
“Let’s get behind Fred and Fubar and enjoy a terrific night in support of a fantastic charity.”
MacAulay’s Angus show is part of his ‘LIFE’ tour.
During the interval, there will be a raffle for some amazing prizes.
Ally added: “MC for the evening, Ross Thomson, will do his best to raise funds and ensure a great total is collected on the night for JDRF.”
Tickets for the event in September are available online from the Eventbrite website only.
