Free licence for over-75s

TV LICENSING Scotland is reminding everyone aged 75 or over that they are eligible for a free TV Licence for their main address. There are currently more than 1,500 free TV Licences in force in Montrose.

With more than 40,000 people in Scotland due to turn 75 this year, TV Licensing and Age Scotland are reminding older TV Licence holders they will be entitled to a free TV Licence on their 75th birthday.

Eligible people can register online at www.tvlicensing.co.uk/over75 or call 0300 790 6073.

Anyone aged 74 or over can begin planning for the concession immediately by applying for a short-term licence to last between one and 11 months.

Once you have one, TV Licensing will send a new licence once every three years, cutting down on excess paperwork.

The free licence is not granted automatically so anybody who becomes eligible needs to make sure they remember to apply by getting in touch with TV Licensing directly.
