MR KEN McLean called in to the Review office on Monday, on his way to Montrose Museum with interesting golf artefacts relating to his father, the late Willie McLean, a postie in town.

Willie was Links Champion in 1925, 1932, 1946 and 1952 when he was aged 55.

At the peak of his golfing prowess he played off a plus-two handicap, a much rarer feat in those days than now.
