A great family day out will be held on Saturday at Renmure, a few miles from Montrose, with the Macmillan Cancer Support committee in charge.
Macmillan Midsummer Madness will be well signposted from the Montrose to Forfar road, with a left turn at the Fithie Brae/Farnell crossroads.
The family fun day with dog show starts at 11am and runs until 5pm. It includes children’s games, sideshows, a sit-down cafe and takeaway with Spanish cuisine and traditional catering.
Music will be played by Montrose Town Band, and a micro light fly-past is scheduled for around 2pm.
Committee secretary, Dominic Houlihan told the Review: “We are all very excited about this great new event. Last year this group raised over £9,500 for Macmillan Cancer Research.”
Professor Houlihan expressed the hope that local support on the longest day would go a long way towards exceeding that figure this year.
It is likely that virtually everyone will attend the event, in the grounds of Kescoweth, by vehicle, and the cost of entry is £5 per vehicle, whether you arrive in a natty two-seater or a mud-splattered four-by-four.
