A MONTROSE performer is currently treading the boards in Aberdeen as part of a touring production of hit West End musical ‘Grease’.
Llandyll Gove cut his showbusiness teeth in the town as a member of the Gordon School of Dancing, The Song Shop and Showcase the Street before going on to study at the Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts (GAMTA) from where he graduated in 2009 after three years’ study.
He was then signed to a top London Agent and since then has worked as a dancer on an American cruise liner, performed in the UK tour of ‘Dancing Queen’.
Also a keen composer, Llandyll has released two short albums on iTunes, and now has his sights set on writing and producing his own musical.
The show is appearing venues across the UK including Bristol, Nottingham and Belfast and has already been staged at the Edinburgh Playhouse, Dublin Grand Canal Theatre and the Politeama Rossetti in Trieste, Italy.
The West End production closed last April and, after auditioning nearly 4,000 people, took to the road for an 18-month tour with Llandyll in the role of T-Bird Brad.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of such a popular show that is so well received everywhere we go. It isn’t often you get to be in something that is so iconic”
‘Grease’ opened at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen on Monday and runs until Saturday, February 11.
