Heidi Grewar (15), a member of the 4th Montrose Guides, was recently presented with the Baden-Powell Challenge Award during a sports and swimming evening at the new Montrose Sports Centre.

This award is the highest available to Guides and shows commitment and involves completing 10 different challenges, from adventure to learning about Guiding in other countries.

Guide Leader Carol Edwards told the Review: “Heidi will now move on to be a Young Leader with 2nd Montrose Brownies, where she will be a valuable member of the leadership team that provides an exciting, modern and challenging programme for their girls.”

At the same presentation ceremony Heidi’s elder sister, Erin, was presented with her Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award by Carol Edwards.

Carol explained: “Erin’s award comes as a result of running her own Rainbow unit in Montrose, completing a skill and physical challenge and a two-night expedition.”

Erin has now been appointed the Duke of Edinburgh adviser for Girlguiding Angus.
