NOW NEARING five years in existence, Montrose band Late Landing are currently awaiting the release of their new album, recorded in Wales but as yet untitled.
Late Landing are a hard rock band who say they are: “loud, intense and get all up in your grill with exciting original music.”
The band was formed in 2007 by guitarist/singer Ben Moore and drummer Nicky Pirie, both 23, both having cut their teeth in high school and cover bands during their time at Montrose Academy.
Bassist Paul Pirie (21) and original guitarist Kevin Robertson joined soon after. The band went to record their debut EP, ‘A View From Inside’, at Mighty Atom Studios, Wales with producers/engineers Joe Gibb and Gethin Woolcock.
Since then Late Landing have gone through one line-up change. Kevin Robertson left in 2009 and was replaced by guitarist Kevin Anderson (21) in 2010.
They spent the following months relentlessly gigging and writing new material for their debut album, which they are currently recording at Mwnci (Monkey) Studios, Wales, with producer/engineer Jethro Chaplin. The album is scheduled for a very early 2012 release date.
The band has played at Aberdeen, Montrose and Arbroath, and has done numerous charity gigs.
Until then you can listen to the band at their intense live shows or check them out on facebook.com/latelanding and if you like what you hear you can buy ‘A View From Inside’ on itunes now!
