ON FRIDAY the Angus Cardiac Group celebrated the 20th anniversary of their inception with an Anniversary Ball in the Park Hotel, Montrose.
It was attended by over 100 members and guests.
The group was founded in 1992 with a membership of 13 and now has 313 members.
At the ball the cake was cut by three founder members, Tom Brighton, Agnes Mitchell and Rhonda Hannah.
Mr Brighton went on to review the progress and achievements of the Angus Cardiac Group had made over those 20 years. He thanked those who had helped along the way.
Gordon Snedden, the present chairman of the group, later spoke about the progress that the group had made over the past year in helping those in Angus with cardiac and other conditions before outlining their plans for the future.
Donations totalling £800 were made to the following:
• Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS)
• The Cardiac Unit at Ninewells Hospital
• Scottish Heart and Arterial Disease Risk Prevention (SHARP)
• Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Angus Cardiac Group is open to people with coronary heart/cardiac disease; partners, carers and family members of those with cardiac disease; involved health professionals; and anyone interested in its the aims and activities.
