Montrose smokers who want to kick the habit can take advantage of a Quit Smoking Group which meets in town on Mondays.
Similar groups meet all over Angus. They are run by smoking cessation coordinators from Angus Community Health Partnership and are free.
Smoking cessation co-ordinator Kelly Cruickshanks said: “Giving up smoking is one of the most important lifestyle changes that can improve health. It is never too late to quit, and stopping now could add years to your life and improve your quality of life.”
Kelly continued: “Free classes are held across Angus at different times throughout the day and after work. If people are looking to stop smoking and would like more for information and support to do this, then they can join one of the groups.
“There is no need to book and smokers do not need to be referred by a GP or nurse.
“Having support when you want to stop smoking is very important in achieving success.”
