Support offered for long term health conditions

PEOPLE with long term health conditions are being offered support by four Angus groups which meet monthly to provide help and advice.

The groups are open to anyone with a long term problem such as diabetes, arthritis, depression, heart disease, COPD, fibromyalgia, M.E. or and offer peer-led support to find out more about their conditions from visitor talks and from other group members with the same or similar health issues.

There are four Angus Long Term Conditions Support Groups which meet at the Springfield Medical Centre in Arbroath on the last Friday of every month from 1 until 3pm; the Brechin group which meets at Brechin Infirmary Minor Injuries Unit on the last Thursday of the month from 2pm until 4pm; the Carnoustie group which meet at the Parkview Medical Centre on the last Wednesday of the month from 2 until 4pm, while the Forfar group meets in the Academy Medical Centre also on the last Friday of the month from 4 until 6pm.

Anyone wishing to attend can drop in to any of the meetings or find out more from the organisation’s award-winning website at or by calling 07901 385279. No booking is required and all meetings are free.

The groups will also have a stand at the Long Term Conditions Event in Forfar’s Reid Hall next Thursday from 11am until 3.30pm.
