Help for school leavers towards postive future

ANGUS school leavers are being given a helping hand to ensure they have the opportunity to do something positive with their lives.

As part of the national Opportunities for All strategy, Angus Council and its partners are supporting young people in making the transition from school into further learning, training, employment or volunteering. Education Committee were told recently that the proportion of young people initially entering a positive destination on leaving schools at 89.7 per cent compares well to the national figure, leaving 500 between their 16th and 20th birthday who are not in employment, education or training.

A number of priority areas for action has now been set out to improve employment, education and training opportunities.
