Do you have what it takes to join the SAS (Surfers Against Sewage) and help them rid the coastline of marine litter this month?
Thanks to support from The Crown Estate and Greggs, SAS has recruited a team of ‘lead volunteers’ who will be running 250 autumn beach cleans throughout the UK, two of which will take place at Montrose and Lunan Bay later this month.
Coastal enthusiasts are being invited to take part in beach cleans at Montrose on Monday, October 24, from 11am-1pm and at Lunan Bay on Saturday, October 29, from 10am-3pm.
For full details of your nearest beach clean visit www.sas.org.uk/events/. There is no need to register, just arrive at the time and date advertised wearing suitable clothing, say hello to the lead volunteer and you will be made to feel like part of the SAS family. For more information contact SAS’s beach clean team on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01872 553001.
Dom Ferris, SAS’s Projects Manager said: “We are so incredibly proud of our lead volunteers! From the Channel Islands to the Isle of Harris and Great Yarmouth to Culmore Point in Northern Ireland these tireless individuals set a truly inspiring example for us all.
“Let’s recognize this effort and join them in protecting our beautiful beaches.”
