The Friends of Stracathro Hospital has invested a further £5,720 on equipment which will benefit patients from the cradle through to adult life.
It is thanks to the generosity of the people of Angus and the Mearns who donate funds and leave legacies to the Friends that this is made possible.
The Otoport Advanced Otoacoustic Screening Machine plays a vital role in complex cases which require detailed information.
Until now there has been no equipment in Angus which can supply this information and patients have had to make the journey to King’s Cross Hospital in Dundee for a test which takes a only couple of minutes.
Now that Stracathro is in a position to carry out this procedure ‘in-house’ 40 to 60 Stracathro patients will benefit every month and be saved the ordeal of having to go to Dundee.
