Knitted for premature babies

ANGUS Machine Knitters have created a huge array of colourful tiny clothes and blankets for Tayside’s premature babies.

In the picture Wilma Stewart (left), organiser with AMK, presents them to Arbroath midwife Sheenagh Howard, who will ensure the smallest are forwarded to Ninewells Hospital while some of the larger items will be useful locally.

Sheenagh’s mum is a member of Angus Machine Knitters who continue knitting their spring programme of smart jackets suitable for evening wear, knitted in Yeoman’s Grigna - a fancy slub yarn with a sheen.

Knitters will also start to think about the upcoming charitable project for blankets and clothing destined for Peru - a charity close to the heart of another of their members.

If you would like to know more, please contact Wilma Stewart 01241 870787 or Catriona Little 01307 461916.

New members and visitors welcome at the Royal British Legion Scotland Upper Hall in Helen Street, Arbroath on a Wednesday evening from 7.30pm.
