MONTROSIANS have one last chance this year to obtain the best of local Christmas produce when the Angus Farmers’ Market holds a special festive event next weekend.
More than 40 stalls will be selling their wares at this Christmas market, which is being held at Angus Farmers Market’s new indoor venue at Forfar Mart on Saturday, December 22.
As well as the chance to do some last minute Christmas shopping in a cosy indoor environment, complete with a café and ample accessible parking, shoppers will also be able to enter a free draw to win a Christmas hamper packed full of Christmas market goods and pick up a few festive cookery tips at demonstrations by resident chef, Hayley Wilkes.
As part of this year’s highly-successful A Taste of Angus campaign, the title of Angus Young Chef of the Year 2012 will be decided at a live cook-off final during the course of the day.
For younger shoppers, there will be a very good reason to visit as Santa’s taking some time out of his busy pre-Christmas schedule to say hello. In addition, chef Hayley will help budding young cooks brush up on their Christmas cookery skills with her Wee Cookies demonstrations and several stalls will provide special children’s activities including face painting.
Carol Robbie, market spokeswoman, said: “With stalls offering an excellent range of local, top-quality, seasonal fresh food and produce, as well as craft and gift stalls, spending a few hours here on the last Saturday morning before Christmas could be the answer to everyone’s festive shopping dilemmas.”
The market will run from 9am until 3pm and further details are available at www.atasteofangus.com.
