A90 junction plea to Transport Minister

A Montrose councillor is calling for the Transport Minsiter to take action on the notorious Marykirk/Laurencekirk Junction on the A90.

David May said: I have noticed that the SNP minister Keith Brown has been making more and more transport promises in projects, such as the A9, the Borders Railway and a rail connection at Leven. I call on Mr Brown to commit resources to the much-needed flyover at Laurencekirk as the traffic using the A90 is busier than ever, and equally more and more lorries and drivers are crossing the junction. The evidence for this is very clear as oil related and other jobs from Montrose increases and the route they use to Aberdeen is the crossing at Laurencekirk.
