Appeal for information over drug theft

MONTROSE police are investigating the theft of 168 Tramadol capsules which were stolen from a car in the town on Wednesday (June 27).

The capsules, of unknown strength, are believed to have been taken from the black Ford Fiests while it was parked and unattended in Glenesk Avenue, at around 10.50am.

A Tayside Police spokesman warned that the pain-killing drug is potentially fatal.

He said: “We are concerned as Tramadol can cause extreme drowsiness, shallow breathing, muscle weakness, slow heartbeat, cold or clammy skin, fainting or seizures and a Tramadol overdose can be fatal.”

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
