Dates announced for ‘Goose Breakfasts’

YOU ARE invited to join staff and volunteers at Montrose Basin Visitor Centre at 6.30am on Sunday, October 7, for the first of two ‘Goose Breakfast’ events.

The People’s Postcode Lottery is supporting the events to see the amazing spectacle of tens of thousands of pink-footed geese leaving the Basin at dawn. After your outdoor dawn experience, it’s back to the Visitor Centre where you’ll be warmed up with tea, coffee, porridge and toast - and a welcome from the local staff and volunteers. An optional presentation by the Montrose Basin Ranger, Anna Cheshier follows.

The second of these events takes place on at 7am on Sunday, November 18.

Scottish Wildlife Trust regional visitor centre manager Caroline Hendry said: “These events are certainly worth the early morning rise. Nothing can beat the sight and sound of thousands of geese taking off against the backdrop of the Montrose skyline. It’s a sight not to be missed.”

Due to popular demand advance booking is essential for these events. To secure a place, please telephone the Visitor Centre on 01674 676336. Adults, £8/Children £4. A non-refundable deposit is required.
