a MEMBER of Glaxosmithkline’s (GSK) staff was rushed to hospital yesterday (Thursday) after an industrial accident at the Montrose factory.
The 20-year-old engineer was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after the incident happened at around 3.45pm. Emergency services were quickly at the scene with two fire appliances and one police unit in attendance.
The man’s injuries are said to be non life-threatening and a GSK spokesman today said he had been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
He said: “Following a minor incident on Tuesday afternoon, an engineer, who was carrying out routine maintenance work on a plant at Glaxosmithkline’s Montrose site, was taken, as a precautionary measure, to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
“Tayside Fire and Rescue Service who attended the site, quickly scaled it down to a minor incident.”
