A body which washed up on the St Cyrus shore has been identified as that of missing angler Fraser Carrington.
Mr Fraser, from Dysart in Fife, was fishing at Tangle-Ha, north of St Cyrus, when he disappeared in the early hours of Sunday, February 2, morning.
The 32-year-old was out with another angler who reported his companion missing at around 3 a.m.
Shortly after, an extensive search of the coastline was carried out.
Police Scotland confirmed that the body of male was found on the shore close to St Cyrus last Friday (February 7,) at around 9 a.m. by a member of the public.
A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body recovered from the shore close to St Cyrus on Friday, February 7, at around 9 a.m. has been identified as that of Fraser Carrington, aged 32 years old, who had previously been reported missing.
“Next of kin have been informed and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
