A Montrose chef is promoting healthy eating by launching a new set of cookery classes at his restaurant in the town.

Chef and owner of The Quay restaurant Steven Tasker is launching a new set of cooking classes this month to encourage people to cook at home with fresh healthy ingredients.

Budding chefs will get the chance to cook a three course meal at The Quay, on Wharf Street, which they can sit down to eat afterwards.

Steven said: “People often don’t or don’t have the time to cook a three course meal when they can buy a ready meal from the supermarket and cook it in the microwave for three minutes.

“It is important for people to engage with their food and know where it comes from.

“I have kids and I make sure they know where their food comes from.”

The classes start on Sunday, July 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will run for six weeks with a possible extension if there is demand for more.

The cost is £45 per person per class and with that you get to cook and eat a three course meal, which comes with a drink.

Recipes for the dishes you cook will be supplied at the end of the class, so you can make them at home.

Places for each class are limited, so booking is essential.

For more details or to book a place on a class please contact The Quay on 01674 672821 or find them on Facebook.
