NHS Tayside has announced it will be re-opening the Montrose GP ward next week.
Montrose Royal Infirmary shut in April, following the failure of its heating and water systems.

However, the GP ward has remained closed with patients from Montrose being cared for in Brechin. Now the health board has announced that it will re-open at the start of next week.
A spokesperson for NHS Tayside said: “The GP Unit will be open for admissions during week commencing Monday, July 14. “This week, the senior charge nurse of the Montrose GP Unit has been continuing with preparations for the re-opening of the unit.
“There are currently four Montrose patients being cared for at Brechin. Any Montrose patients still being cared for in Brechin on Monday, July 14 will be clinically assessed to decide if they are suitable to be transferred to the GP Unit at Montrose Infirmary.
“We will continue to issue regular updates on the progress.”
