Montrose Solicitor Hamish Watt has taken over as the new president of the town’s Rotary Club.

Mr Watt, originally from Forfar, went to the University of Dundee to study his law degree.

He said: “I have been in Montrose since 1976, some 38 years ago, so I consider myself to be a Montrosian.

“I was also in Montrose for a couple of years before 1970, so the total time is 40 years.

“I see my Rotary year as a new challenge.”

Mr Watt thanked outgoing president Colin Den-McKay for all the club’s achievements during his term of office. Mr Den-McKay is pictured (left) handing the reins over to Mr Watt (right).
