A Montrose teenager will be representing the town in the finals of a national beauty contest this summer.
Natasha Stark (16) will be competing in the Miss Teen Great Britain finals in Blackpool on August 30 and 31 as Miss Teen Montrose.
The S4 Montrose Academy pupil was selected as one of 60 finalists out of 200 semi-finals from across the UK.
Natasha said: “I was overwhelmed when I found out. It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“I’m proud to be representing a lesser known area like Montrose in a national competition.”
Natasha’s mum Val said: “I’m over the moon and really excited for her.”
To secure her place in the grand final, Natasha has to raise £300. So far, she has already raised around £200.
If you would like to sponsor Natasha, a form can be found in the Review office at 63 Murray Street, Montrose.
The national contest is for girls aged 11 to 19 and is spilt into two categories - Miss Junior Teen Great Britain for girls aged 11 to 14 years and Miss Teen Great Britain for teens aged 15 to 19 years old.
There are three categories in the final that the girls have to take part in - a fashion wear round, an evening wear round and finally an interview with the judges.
As well as the Miss Teen Great Britain and Miss Junior Teen Great Britain titles, there are other titles up for grabs, such as the Miss Teen Publicity for the girl who gets the most publicity and Miss Teen Charity for the girl who raises the most money for a good cause.
Natasha said she is thinking about holding a coffee morning in aid of for Claire House Children’s Hospice - a hospice in the Wirral which provides respite and end-of-life care for children and young adults with life-limiting medical conditions and the contest’s nominated charity.
