The NEXT afternoon talk organised by the National Trust for Scotland Angus Members’ Centre is on Thursday, January 17, at 2.30pm in the Guide Hall, Myre Car Park, Forfar.

The talk is about the NTS School of Heritage Gardening and will be given by Sinclair Williamson, gardens advisor at the School of Heritage Gardening.

The School of Heritage Gardening runs courses in the practical gardening skills required to look after the type of historic garden in the Trust’s care. A variety of full-time studentships and apprenticeships are offered, covering one or more years to build on the knowledge gained from academic horticulture qualifications.

Most courses are based at Threave Estate in Dumfries & Galloway. On the longer courses, in the second and subsequent years, the students may also undergo placements at other Trust gardens - Branklyn, Crathes, Drum, Inverewe, Kellie Castle and Pitmedden.

All are welcome and the admission charge of £4 includes light refreshments after the meeting.
