A night of music in aid of a cancer charity is being held in Montrose in September.

Organised by the Granite City Scooter Club the Double Barrel Scooter Sounds event will be an evening of mod, ska, two tone, indie, R&B, soul and reggae music.

All the money from the event will be going towards the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Vince McDonald, one of the organisers, said: “This kind of music genre is picking up in this area but apart from Montrose Music Festival there isn’t much of this kind of music being showcased around here.”

Vince received a cheque for £1,000 from the welfare committee of the Tartan Alpha Rig where he works to go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Double Barrel Scooter Sounds event takes place on Saturday, September 27 at the Park Hotel between 7 and 9 p.m.

Tickets for the gig are available from Kelly’s Sweet Shop on Montrose High Street, Phoenix Photoshop, Castle Street, Montrose, and from Carnabys mod and retro clothing stores in Dundee and Aberdeen.

Carnabys will also have a clothes stall selling their merchandise at the event.
