Open University taster courses

THE OPEN University, in partnership with Angus College, is launching its next round of Openings Courses in Angus.

With nine courses to choose from, all studied distance learning over a maximum of 20 weeks and starting in March, this could be the beginning of something really worthwhile.

With lots of support and no examinations, these short starter modules are specifically designed to give students a gentle introduction to a subject of interest.

Courses include the following

Understanding Health

Understanding Society

Introducing Environment

Understanding Management

Understanding Children and Young People

Starting with Law,

Starting with Psychology

Starting with Maths

Making sense of the arts.

One previous Openings student said: “This was a good course for me, not only for the study skills but as a real confidence builder.

“It made me reflect on past experiences in a positive way and has given me the motivation for further study.

“Knowing that the tutor is only a phone call away is great. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to return to study.”

Angus College is holding an information and taster evening on Wednesday, January 23, from 5.30 to 7pm.

For further information call Pauline McDonald on 01241 432722.
