FERRYDEN School pupils displayed their football skills recently to help raise money for Links Park Community Trust.
The youngsters held a speed shot and target shot fund-raiser at the beginning of February, realising £368 in sponsorship and donations from parents and friends which will be divided equally between the trust and school funds.
An inflatable goal and electronic sports radar equipment were provided by the trust which was used to measure the speed of each shot at goal, with the fastest in each class receiving a special certificate at a presentation in the school on Friday. All the children who took part will also receive certificates and medals.
The money will be used to buy the pupils hooded tops for use at sporting events and trips while the donation to the community trust will go towards its education programme. Using sport as a common theme, it aims to help children develop competency in all areas of the Curriculum for Excellence, but initially in numeracy, literacy, health and wellbeing and science.
Peter Davidson, general manager, said: “The trust will invest the money back in to its education programme at Links Park for the Ferryden pupils so all the money will benefit the kids who raised it.”
