Road works - weather permitting

‘Shovel ready’ investment worth around £120,000 will see BEAR, on behalf of Transport Scotland, undertake a programme of essential resurfacing works on the northbound carriageway of the A90 near Stonehaven.

The works, which will take place between the A92 Junction and Spurryhillock Junction, a distance of approximate 2km will start on Tuesday 29th January and finish on Sunday 3rd February. They will take place overnight between the hours of 1930 and 0630. No work will take place on Friday or Saturday nights.

Traffic Management will consist of lane closures and temporary traffic lights with a convoy system on the northbound carriageway. This is for the safety of workers on site. The southbound carriageway will be unaffected.

This scheme is financed from additional budget provided by the Scottish Government for ‘shovel ready’ schemes. The estimated cost of the works is around £120,000.

Andy Thompson, North East Operating Company Representative with BEAR Scotland said: “These works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays to motorists. We would however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance where possible.”

These works will be undertaken by Breedon Aggregates Ltd and Euromark Ltd on behalf of BEAR Scotland and have been planned in consultation with Aberdeenshire Council and Grampian Police.
