Theft and vandalisms

MONTROSE Police report that between 8 and 8.10pm on Friday (July 6), two mountain bikes were stolen from the driveway of 13 Wishart Avenue.

The first is a red Sabre bike which, at the time of theft, had a black padlock wrapped around its frame. The word Sabre is emblazoned on the front tyre.

The second is a black X-Trail mountain bike with grey trim and white lettering.

The rear window of a silver Honda Accord was smashed between 11 and 11.30pm on Saturday (July 7).

The vehicle was parked on Provost Mitchell Road.

Anyone who has information which could be useful to police in solving these crimes is asked to contact the non-emergency number, 0300 111 2222.

Police remind drivers, in these changeable times, to use dipped headlights in foggy conditions.

A spokesman said: “If you go into a room where you cannot see very well your first instinct is to switch on a light - being in your vehicle should be no different.”
