Weeds look unsightly in town

Local councillor David May has been contacted by several residents with complaints regarding unsightly weeds growing in the town.

Mr May told the Review: “I have been contacted by various local residents about the number of weeds in the High Street, Murray Street and North Street in Montrose so I made about a point of checking out the problem directly. There are weeds at the bottom of some of our statues, trees and on the pavements. Consequently, I contacted the parks department about this and I am glad to report that the council will ensure that this will be resolved in the course of the next few weeks. I tend to agree with a local resident, who commented to me, that local shopkeepers could take responsibility and remove the weeds outside their own shops.”
