Local store is helping to make a difference

THE ORIGINAL Factory Shop in Montrose is set to make a big difference to the Sue Ryder Care charity after it was chosen as its new partner for 2011.

Following an appeal to the community for residents to nominate the local causes close to their hearts, colleagues at the High Street store are gearing up to support the organisation for the next 12 months.

A programme of fund-raising activities has been planned and the store has a minimum target of £500 to meet.

Last weekend a total of £233 was raised over both Saturday and Sunday during the official launch of the ‘Make a Difference’ campaign.

Store manager Andrew Lynch said: “We had a lot of local causes come forward this year.

“It wasn’t an easy decision but after considering each application carefully, we thought that we could really help to make a difference to Sue Ryder Care in 2011.

“Colleagues have got behind the campaign and we have lots of ideas that worked well last year. But we couldn’t do it without the support of our loyal customers and for that we are very grateful.

The Original Factory Shop’s ‘Make a Difference’ campaign first launched in 2010 and so far they have donated over £50,000 to local causes throughout the UK.

Local groups are asked to write a letter of nomination to the store to receive 12 months of fund-raising support from the team.
